The last G80 before the 2025 facelift, with the 2.5T four or the 3.5T V6, and a car that will be under its 5-year/60,000-mile warranty until 2029 at the earliest. NHTSA holds exactly one complaint for it — a rear-corner blind-spot sensor that dropped out intermittently — so there is no owner record to read, and we will not pretend otherwise. What there is: two recalls, both worth taking seriously. A 2026 campaign for a fuel-rail pipe joint that can leak, with letters only going out in July 2026, so most cars for sale have not had it; and a 2025 software fix for an instrument panel that can go blank. The 2022 and 2023 cars were also recalled for a fuel pump that can quit and leave the car without drive; the 2024 is outside that campaign, and we cannot tell you whether that is because the part changed or because nobody has filed yet. Buy it with both recalls closed on the VIN and the warranty confirmed in writing, and treat the empty file as what it is: a car too new for anyone to have complained about.

Fuel can leak at the pipe-to-rail connection — a 2026 recall almost no car has had yetHigh — wallet impact

Recall 26V229 covers 2021–2025 G80s and most of the Genesis range: the fitting between the fuel pipe and the fuel rail can leak, and a fuel leak on a hot engine is a fire risk. Dealers inspect and tighten or replace the pipe, free of charge, but owner letters only began going out on July 20, 2026, so a 2024 on a lot this year has probably not been in. There is no owner account on this year to add. After a warm test drive, open the hood and smell across the top of the engine, and smell again at the filler door; then run the VIN on NHTSA's recall lookup and see the campaign shown closed before you pay, or have the seller book it at a Genesis dealer and hand you the invoice.

Digital instrument panel can fail from a software error — no speedometer, no warning lights (recall)Medium

Recall 25V105 covers 2023–2024 G80s and GV80s: a software error can make the instrument panel display fail outright, so the driver loses the speedometer and every warning lamp at once, which puts the car out of compliance with the federal standard for instrument displays. The remedy is a dealer software update, free, with letters mailed March 26, 2025 — so a car sold in 2026 should already have had it, and a dealer invoice will say so. At the car, cycle the ignition four or five times and watch that the whole panel lights up every time without a pause or a blank half; the 2022 car drew a complaint for exactly that, and it would not misbehave in front of the dealer.

Rear-corner blind-spot radar drops out intermittently with no warning lightMedium

The only complaint on this year: the passenger-side rear blind-spot sensor kept going inoperative while driving, with no warning on the dash, and the dealer's diagnosis and repair are not recorded. The blind-spot radars on this car sit behind the rear bumper corners, and an intermittent one is usually a connector, a bumper that has been repainted or bumped, or the radar itself. All of it is a warranty visit on a 2024. At the car, look at the rear bumper corners for mismatched paint or a repair, then drive with traffic passing on both sides and watch that the mirror indicator lights every time; also look for any 'Check Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist' message on the driver display after start-up.

Fuel pump — recalled on the 2022 and 2023 cars, and the 2024 is outside that campaignMedium

Not on this year's record. The 2022 and 2023 G80s were recalled for a fuel pump assembly that can fail and leave the car without drive, and a 2023 owner met it on a two-week-old car in stop-and-go traffic. The 2024 is not in that campaign's VIN range, and we do not know whether that is because the pump was revised or because the car is too new for reports. Either way the check costs nothing: two hard pulls from a stop on the test drive, then a five-minute idle with the air conditioning on, listening for a stumble or a momentary loss of power, and ask a Genesis dealer with the VIN whether any fuel-system campaign or service bulletin applies to this car.
