An underrated full-size luxury sedan — the CT6 is genuinely good, with a light, agile chassis, a quiet cabin, and available twin-turbo power, at prices well below the German flagships. A documented CT6 with a healthy engine and working electronics is a lot of luxury car for the money; verify the (twin-turbo, if fitted) engine, air suspension, and CUE electronics.

8-speed automatic shudders or bangs into gearMedium

GM's 8-speed automatic in the CT6 can shudder, clunk, or hesitate on light throttle — especially 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts once the transmission is warm. It's a widely documented issue across GM's 8L45/8L90 family that led to a class-action settlement and multiple technical service bulletins. Many cases clear up with a dealer transmission-control-module software update; a shuddering torque converter needs replacing if the update doesn't fix it.
