Maximum space and towing in a plush package — the extended Yukon XL swallows people, cargo, and trailers, with the 5.3L (or 6.2L) V8 on the proven GM truck platform. Same 5.3L AFM lifter watch-item as the Tahoe, plus the extra cost of feeding and shoeing something this big. A superb long-haul family/tow rig if the V8 and electronics check out.

Water works past the headlight seal and into the housing, which typically kills the LED daytime-running-light strip first and can fog the lens; the rear tail lamps have a similar water-intrusion problem that shorts out the brake/tail function. Check both headlights in daylight for the DRL strip lighting up, and check the tail lamps for fogging or moisture.
