Two complaints and no recall campaigns at all. That is not a clean bill of health and we will not write it as one — it is a young car that few owners have yet had reason to file about, and a record this small cannot tell you anything about how it wears. So this page is mostly honest carry-over: the door handle pads and the ten-speed valve body are documented problems on the 2020 through 2023 cars, the facelifted 2024 shares that hardware, and neither has a complaint against this year yet. Inspect it as if the record were silent, because it effectively is, and lean on whatever factory warranty is left.

Water collecting inside the door and trunk frames after rain or a washMedium

One owner reports finding standing water in the frames inside all four doors and the trunk after heavy rain or washing the car, and was told by the dealer that other owners had said the same. Water trapped in a door cavity is how rust starts from the inside, where you will not see it until the paint bubbles along the bottom edge. This is checkable in two minutes: open each door, peel back the lower trim or feel inside the drain slots along the bottom lip, and look for damp, silt or a tide mark. Blocked drains are cheap; a rotted door skin later is not.

Electronic door handle pads — documented on earlier CT5s, unproven on this yearMedium

We flag this because the 2020 through 2023 CT5 record is full of it and the 2024 keeps the same flush handle with a touch pad instead of a mechanical latch: the pad stops making its connection and the door will not open from outside, often one door at a time. There is nothing filed against the 2024 yet, so we are not calling it a 2024 fault — only a known weakness of the part this car carries. Open all four doors from outside twice at the viewing; it is the cheapest test on this list and the one most likely to find something.

Ten-speed automatic valve body — a 2020-2023 pattern this year has not shownMedium

The earlier CT5 record describes a harsh shift followed by a 'reduced power' or 'limited acceleration' message and a car limited to the lower gears, with the valve body inside the 10-speed named again and again. GM's 2025 transmission campaign covered the 2020 and 2021 cars only. No 2024 owner has filed a powertrain complaint, which at this mileage means little either way. The useful response is a long cold test drive rather than worry: take it through every gear from a cold start and up to highway speed, and have any stored transmission codes read before you pay.
