A beautifully designed, safe, comfortable three-row luxury SUV — the XC90's minimalist cabin, superb seats, and standard third row make it a distinctive alternative to the German SUVs. The Drive-E engines (turbo T5, twincharged T6, and plug-in T8) are efficient but complex, and Volvo service costs more. A documented XC90 with full history is a lovely, safe family SUV; verify the engine, electronics, air suspension (if fitted), and remaining warranty.
