Two complaints for the whole model year, both of them the same owner writing about the same fuel gauge, and no recall campaigns. That is close to no public record at all, and it tells you how few of these were sold in the final carryover year of the old G37 coupe and convertible — it tells you nothing about how the car holds up. Read our 2014 page alongside this one: it is mechanically the same car, the same VQ37 V6 and seven-speed automatic, and it has thirteen filings including six on the passenger seat airbag sensor. Those filings do not appear here because fewer people filed, not because Infiniti changed the seat. So inspect this one as though they did apply, and enjoy the part that is genuinely good news — a naturally aspirated V6 with no turbos to fail and a decade of independent shops who know it.

Fuel gauge reads a third of a tank when the tank is actually emptyMedium

The only owner to file on this year did so twice, under electrical and under fuel, for the same problem: the gauge shows fuel remaining while the car is running dry. They point out that an earlier recall on this engine family covered exactly this symptom on model years before theirs, and that their car falls outside it — which is accurate, and means there is no free fix to claim. The cause is normally the level sender inside the tank, whose resistance track wears where the float spends most of its time. It is not dangerous in itself but it will strand you. Check it the boring way: note the gauge, put a known amount of fuel in, and see whether the needle moves sensibly.

Passenger airbag switches itself off when the seat sensor failsMedium

Nobody filed this on the 2015, but six owners filed it on the mechanically identical 2014, and the seat did not change between them. The symptom is specific and free to test: an adult sits in the passenger seat, and instead of the passenger airbag reading as armed, the warning light flashes or the airbag-off indicator stays lit. Infiniti's official remedy is a replacement seat, which is why owners on the previous year report quotes in the thousands for what is really a pressure mat. We have marked this medium rather than high only because this year's public record is silent on it — treat it as a real risk on the car in front of you, and price it in if the light is on.

Dash pad surface goes soft and glossy after years in the sunMedium

Cars of this family are known for a dashboard top that gets tacky and starts throwing a hard reflection up into the windscreen, which is an annoyance in cloud and a genuine visibility problem in low sun. No one filed it on this year, so we are flagging it from what is widely documented on the platform rather than from the record. Cost nothing to check: run a finger across the top of the dash near the windscreen and see whether it feels dry plastic or slightly sticky. If it is already soft it only gets worse, and a replacement pad is a full dash-out job at a trim shop.
