Kestrel Take
A premium small sedan that shares its excellent 2.0T and platform with the GTI, wrapped in a classy Audi cabin. Fun, refined, and available with Quattro AWD. It's still a German turbo, so budget for the water pump, carbon, and (on S tronic cars) transmission service. A maintained A3 delivers real premium feel; a neglected one gets pricey.

A big number here usually means a lot of these were sold, not that it is a bad vehicle — popular models collect more complaints for the same rate of trouble. So the total on its own says little.
